Finding Flexibility and Connection in a Career with Signify Health
By Signify Health Team on 5/7/26 9:00 AM
For nurse practitioner Ikran Hussein, working for Signify Health offers more than just the opportunity to make a difference for health plan members. Her part-time role allows her to juggle the responsibilities of a meaningful career while keeping up with her young children.
"What I like most about Signify Health, after the time I get to spend with members, is the flexible schedule. I can put my child on the bus and be home in time for dinner and bed time,” she said.
Ikran discovered her interest in health care at a young age, inspired in part by her mother, also a nurse. Prior to joining Signify Health, Ikran worked in a variety of health care settings, including nursing homes, acute care and home care. However, longer shifts and late nights made it difficult to manage her schedule and be present for her family.

What is Moonlighting in Residency?
By Signify Health Team on 3/17/26 10:00 AM
The supervised clinical training period, also known as residency, is a time when physicians build clinical skills, expand medical knowledge and learn to manage a clinical workload with independence. While the long hours and demanding schedules are part of the process, it’s also common for residents to take on additional clinical work — and supplement their earnings — outside their core program.
Moonlighting as a resident involves picking up extra shifts in addition to residency. This can translate into gaining both a supplemental income source and additional hands-on experience in clinical settings. It can also introduce resident physicians to new patient populations or practice environments that complement their primary training.
