Billi Jo Hennika

COO and ACO Champion, McKenzie Health System

Billi Jo Hennika is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Champion at McKenzie Health System (MHS).  Billi Jo began at MHS in 2011 as the Director of Healthcare Practice where she directed six family practice offices, one Orthopedic office and several visiting specialty clinics. In 2013 she accepted the role as COO where she took on the responsibility of overseeing nursing, diagnostic imaging, lab, rehabilitation services, provider practices, facilities management, clinic support services, dietary and housekeeping departments.

From an educational aspect, Billi Jo is a bachelors prepared registered nurse, and received her master’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2016. She participates in many educational offerings related to the trending changes within healthcare. Billi Jo has a desire to give back to community she grew up in through the vision she and MHS share; improve the quality of life in our community through an integrated health care delivery system that is characterized by collaboration, innovation, technology and value.

As ACO Champion Billi Jo focuses on population health management and has a great understanding of the needs of the community as well as the lack of services available. Billi Jo lead the practices to obtaining Patient Centered Medical Home status in 2013, was instrumental in implementation of Telehealth specialty clinic care and after-hours clinic, developed the Chronic Care Management program in 2014, championed MHS to shared savings within the ACO in 2017-2020, and lead the organization in implementing a nursing services program at the Sanilac County Correctional Facility in 2018. MHS has obtained the following under the leadership of Billi Jo; First Critical Access Hospital in Michigan to be fully accredited Level IV Trauma facility (2017), be certified as a “Stroke Ready” facility by HFAP (Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program) (2018), Level lll Geriatric Emergency Department Accredited (2019) and Acute Heart Attach Ready certification through the Joint Commission (2019).
