Robert Cunningham

Chief Operating Officer at Olmsted Medical Center (OMC)

Rob has spent the previous 25 years in healthcare and healthcare administration.  Beginning his career in human resource leadership, through some great opportunities and great mentors, Rob made his way into hospital operations leadership 20 years ago. Rob has had the opportunity to work in both small and large systems, commenting that the major difference between the two is how many zeroes are represented in the organization’s book of business. In his current position as Chief Operating Officer at Olmsted Medical Center (OMC) based in Rochester, MN, Rob leads the primary care division, specialty division, multiple surgical specialties as well as ancillary and support services across the system.  Rob works closely with OMC’s Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer, together they have the medical, clinical and operational responsibility for the system.  For the past six years, Rob and his team have been an integral part of expanding and improving upon OMC’s performance in population heath, ACO and other value-based contracts.  Rob is extremely proud of the outcomes that the OMC team continues to deliver while partnering with the patients that entrust their care to OMC.  He is proud to say that he has a working knowledge of multiple acronyms such as: RAF, HCC, ACO, AWV, BP, A1C, HF, PMPM, SNF, PCMH, PCP and most importantly CMS.
