Ashok Roy, MD, MPH, MBA

CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER, VALUE BASED CARE, SIGNIFY HEALTH

Dr. Ashok Roy is a board-certified practicing Internist with more than 20 years of experience in population health, healthcare consulting, and healthcare administration. His passion is using advanced analytics to develop and implement more efficient work processes using data to increase patient care outcomes, lower costs, and improve patient and provider satisfaction. 


In addition to seeing patients, he is currently the Chief Medical Officer, Value-Based Care Solutions at Signify Health, and leads their clinical strategy to help providers improve patient care and succeed in value-based care methodologies. This strategy includes developing products that positions providers with the knowledge to combine team-based care and clinical programs to manage complex patients while decreasing provider burn-out and staff turnover more effectively.

 

Prior to joining Caravan, Dr. Roy served as Chief Medical Officer, Clinical Solutions & Analytics, at Lumeris. There, he led a team that analyzed value-based payment opportunities and designed corresponding clinical programs. This role involved working with a variety of practices and clinics to implement clinical programs and produce timely, accurate, and actionable dashboards to measure progress. 


Additionally, Dr. Roy has a strong understanding of health markets beyond Medicare. He helped to establish the Massachusetts Health Insurance Exchange and enacted subsidies for low-income beneficiaries. He led a multidisciplinary team that studied best practice techniques for treating soldiers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq with traumatic brain injuries and psychological health complications.


Dr. Roy received his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and trained in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s- Roosevelt Medical Center in New York City. He earned his Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
