Medicare alternative payment model for radiation therapy services

Original Air Date: December 2, 2021

CMS has recently reiterated their commitment to launching the mandatory Radiation Oncology Alternative Payment Model (RO-APM). The program, set to launch in January of 2023, is designed to test how prospective, site neutral, modality agnostic, episode-based payments to physician group practices (PGPs), hospital outpatient departments (HOPD), and freestanding radiation therapy centers can drive affordability and quality for Medicare beneficiaries. During this exclusive event, value-based care experts will summarize the key components of the model, its policy implications, and considerations for analytics needs to support success in the program. Two highly-regarded physician leaders will also discuss the cultural and practical implications of the model, along with the impacts of the program as part of a larger value-based care strategy.

Topics covered include:

  • A detailed overview and policy analysis of the RO-APM
  • Integrating RO-APM into your current value-based care strategy
  • The physician leader’s view of RO-APM workflow impacts and implications
  • Using the right data and analytics to support your success
